Adopt Mandy: a fun forever friend

12/14/2015 – Mandy has been adopted!

Mandy is another little terrier we transported from the Houston shelter because she is heart worm positive. She has been treated for her heart worms and can be adopted. We cannot retest her to make sure that we have killed all the heart worms for six months. If you would like to adopt this little girl, we will pay to retest her early next May. If she is negative, we will all be happy! If she is still positive for heart worms, we will pay to have her retreated until she tests negative. One treatment is usually sufficient to kill the heart worms. This little girl loves people attention. She loves to be held and cuddled. When she came into rescue, she had lost most of her fur, probably as the result of fleas, which have been treated, and she is regrowing her fur. She also has heavy calluses on her elbows, possibly the result of spending too much time in a crate. We were originally told that she was about 5 years old, but our vet thinks she is more like 7 to 8 years old. This little girl deserves a great adoptive family to show her the good life! Mandy is spayed, she is up to date on her shots (rabies, distemper, and kennel cough), vet checked, and micro chipped.

If you would like to meet Mandy, please complete the adoption application. We will give you a call to set up a time to bring Mandy for a visit.
