Mandy is an 11 year old black female mini Schnauzer. She weighs 23 lbs. Her owner passed away. She is housetrained. Mandy was used to her momâs quiet home, so she wasnât doing well in a family memberâs active household after her mom passed away, so they contacted us. She would enjoy a quiet adult household. She is a very loving girl.

Georgie (black F) and Maxie (gray F) came into rescue yesterday because their mommy had passed away. They are 12 years old. We were able to get them into our vet yesterday afternoon for a checkup, bloodwork and vaccinations. Hopefully the blood tests will help us figure out why they are so thin despite being on a good diet. If bloodwork is ok, they are scheduled to have their teeth cleaned and cared for next week, then they will be looking for a foster or forever home.

ONLY FAMILIES WITH DOG EXPERIENCE WILL BE CONSIDERED Quinton and his brother and sister were surrendered to an out of state rescue when they were puppies. Their parents were a Miniature Schnauzer (Mom) and a Mini-Aussie/Pomeranian (Dad). Quinton will be 3 years old in April and he weighs about 25 lbs. Quinton and his siblings were basically ignored as pups from all human interaction. When they arrived to the other rescue, they were "semi-feral." Each pup was placed in a separate foster home to start learning what life could be like with love and human interaction. Quinton never received a good application, so the other rescue asked if we would accept him into our rescue to give him a better chance at the good life in Colorado. Quinton MUST have a securely fenced in yard, no exceptions. Only experienced dog families will be considered to adopt Quinton, as he still has lessons to learn about life and love. Quinton, even though fearful of humans (until he knows them) is very submissive, he will never even mumble so much as a growl. He really is a sweet guy, and will be a nice friend if given the time to settle.

Reed is an adorable 4 year old boy who came to rescue about a year ago from the streets of Houston. He came in heartworm positive, but we treated him last year and he was tested 6-8 months after and was negative. He was adopted a year ago, but has never become comfortable with the male human, in fact has acted both fearful and aggressive toward the man, although he is just fine with the woman, so we feel that finding him a home with a single woman is going to be the best bet. Reed does seem to get along ok with other dogs, so that may help him learn how to be a more normal doggie.

Gretel is a sweet little mini who is looking for a retirement home. She and her friend Hansel were found in very bad condition running as strays and desperately in need of help. Unfortunately, Hansel was in the end stage of kidney failure and went to the rainbow bridge to wait for Gretel. Gretel is a little shy, but once she gets to know you, she will seek out attention. She loves to sit on the couch and cuddle. She weighs about 16 pounds and seems to be at least crate trained. She is looking for a quiet home with a comfortable bed and good soft food. Gretel is spayed, she is up to date on her shots (rabies, distemper and kennel cough), vet checked, heartworm tested negative and on preventative while in rescue, and micro chipped. Her teeth were in pretty bad shape so we cleaned the good ones and pulled the bad ones! If you would like to meet Gretel, go to www.cominischnauzerrescue.com and complete the on-line adoption application. We will give you a call to set up a time to bring Gretel for a visit.

Pinkie was in a shelter in Puerto Rico when hurricane Maria headed for the island. Luckily, she was airlifted to the mainland to make room in the shelters for dogs that would get lost in the hurricane. She was flown to a local shelter in Colorado, but after a couple weeks with no interest, they asked rescue to take her in. She is a small terrier mix, not quite 12 pounds. She had been picked up as a stray, so we don't know much about her. We think that she is about 12 years old. She probably lived as a street dog, but she is very social. She gets along well with people, especially if they give her belly rubs. She is fine with other dogs as long as they don't get in her face. She is definitely crate trained, but we aren't sure about her housetraining. She is quiet. Pinkie is spayed, she is up to date on her vaccinations (rabies, distemper and kennel cough), vet checked, heartworm tested negative and on preventative while in rescue, and micro chipped. She does seem to have cataracts, but sees well enough to get around well. If you would like to meet Pinkie, go to www.cominischnazuerrescue.com and complete the on-line adoption application. We will give you a call to set up a time to bring Pinkie for a visit.

Princess is looking for a retirement home and Kato would like to come along! We think she is 12 or 13 years old, she looks like a spaniel mix, and weighs about 18 pounds. She probably was someone's "Princess" for part of her life because she does like people, but she was running as a stray for a long time based on her matted fur and poor dental health when she was picked up. She was running with Kato when they were picked up by animal control. She is a little timid with people, but she does like the food and treats that they bring! Kato is probably about 6 years old and is a 14 pound mini schnauzer mix. Kato is very fearful of people, but will let his foster pet him and hold him so we are working on building his trust. Princess is spayed and Kato is neutered, they are up to date on their shots (rabies, distemper and kennel cough), vet checked, heartworm tested negative and on preventative while in rescue, and micro chipped. Princess has had her teeth cleaned and cared for while in rescue. If you are interested in meeting Princess and Kato, go to www.cominischnauzerrescue.com and complete the adoption application. We will give you a call to set up a time to bring them for a visit.

Betty is a 10 year old black schnauzer "wannabe" who is looking for a quiet retirement home. She came from an out of state shelter where she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and put on medication. Our vet is not seeing the usual signs of heart failure on Betty's xrays, but we have continued her medication. We are slowly working with Betty and the vet to determine exactly what medical issues Betty is facing. At 29 pounds, she is a big girl and may benefit from losing some weight, regardless of other medical issues, so that is our first goal. Betty is a sweet, calm girl who loves attention and a soft bed. We would love to find a foster home for her with a doggy door and a large fenced yard for her to wander around in. CAN YOU HELP? Betty is spayed, she is up to date on her shots (rabies, distemper and kennel cough), vet checked, heartworm tested negative and on preventative while in rescue, and micro chipped. If you would like to meet Betty, go to www.cominischnauzerrescue.com and complete either the adoption application of the foster application. We will give you a call to set up a time to bring Betty for a visit.

Brutus and Bronco are 12 year old mini males who are looking for a loving retirement home. Can you help them? They are small little guys at only 14 to 15 pounds each. They love people attention and get along well with other dogs, but their favorite thing is investigating their fenced in backyard. They like to watch the squirrels and rabbits and birds and sniff all the good smells. Their ideal home would have a nice backyard and someone who was home with them most of the time. At their age, they need to get outside to potty often, and Bronco needs some reinforcement wirh his training. Brutus & Bronco are both neutered, up to date on shots (rabies, distemper and kennel cough), vet checked, heartworm tested negative and on preventative while in rescue, and micro chipped. Their senior blood panels indicate that everything is mostly within normal limits. If you would like to meet these boys, go to www.cominischnauzerrescue.com and complete the adoption application. We will give you a call to set up a time to bring them for a visit.

Oscar and Charlie are a bonded male pair looking for a comfortable, loving retirement home. Their previous owners had a baby and the dogs were not thrilled with that, so they were relinquished to rescue. Oscar is the larger gray schnauzer. He is about 12 years old and weighs just over 23 pounds. Charlie is the smaller black mini. He is about 8 years old and weighs just over 15 pounds. They are used to a quiet adult home, so we are looking for a home with no children. They do enjoy wandering around in the backyard of their foster home. Oscar has a little arthritis in his hind legs and can be a little grumpy, whereas Charlie is more social, but a little timid with strangers. Oscar and Charlie are neutered, they are up to date on their vaccinations (rabies, distemper and kennel cough), vet checked, heartworm tested negative and on preventative while in rescue, and microchipped. They have both had dental care since they came into rescue. Oscar lost most of his teeth to decay and Charlie lost about half of his, but they both still eat dry kibble. We did blood tests prior to surgery and most of their results were within normal limits. If you would like to meet Oscar and Charlie, go to www.cominischnauzerrescue.com and complete the adoption application. We will contact you to set up a time to bring them for a visit.
