Snowy and Butters were adopted!

Double Happy Tail!!  This is a really special one… This man applied to adopt several months ago, but was in the process of moving away from Colorado and we just weren’t able to get it done before he moved. Well, he kept an eye on the web page and when he saw Snowy and Butters were in need of a special home, he called and the wheels started turning to make this happen. Days before Christmas he drove through a snow storm to get to Colorado where we used the play yard at Best Friends Wheat Ridge for our sunny but chilly meet and greet. He loved the boys already and the boys adore their gentle and caring new dad.

As you may recall, Butters came in with an old break in his front leg. Our vets and a wonderful orthopedic surgeon fixed him up so that he’d have a more comfortable and active life. The Adopter and his vet are continuing to help sweet Butters rehab from the surgery. Snowy is a cutie who just needed some work on his manners and excitability. The boys and their dad headed out and made it home for a family Christmas Eve with the whole family and new furry relatives.

This is truly a happy Tail – two very happy Tails to be sure!!

Thor (aka Winston) was adopted!

❤️ Happy Tail! ❤️ Thor (now named Winston), the “Schnauzer-adjacent” cutie who was a stray in southern New Mexico, found his furever home and is living the good life now! This loving big boy caught us a bit off guard when he came off the transport van since he was quite a bit bigger than our normal arrival, but what a sweet boy he is. His new people tell us “Winston has completed our family. We just love him.” Hurray for Winston and his peeps!! 🎉🐾🐶💕

Rocky was adopted!

Happy Tail!  Earlier this month we told you about Rocky, a sweet 14 year old whose owner moved away and left him behind. The roommate in the home where he was left brought him to a vet clinic in Albuquerque since the large dogs in the home were beating Rocky up. Well, through the magic of social media, and a dedicated office manager at the vet clinic, we were able to bring him into rescue. Two wonderful young women in the area arranged to foster him while he waited for his dental surgery this week provided through the incredible generosity of Petroglyph Animal Hospital. Well, when the foster family thought about sending him on the next step of his journey this weekend, they just couldn’t bear the thought of not having him with them after he’d gotten so comfortable and happy. So……we have our first out of state “foster awesome”!! Thank you to everyone who was involved in getting this deserving senior his happily ever after.

Murphy was adopted!

Happy Tail!  “Micro” Murphy is a tiny little boy who has been in a foster home for quite some time. His patient and generous fosters worked on some food allergies that were causing irritating skin issues, and helped him to be less reactive to outside stimulus like other dogs. He even graduated from training class! Well, this little guy worked his way into his fosters hearts over the months, so he was recently made an official family member and will have an awesome and love filled life forever. Woohoo!!!

Boomer was adopted!

❤️ Happy Tail! ❤️ A local shelter contacted us about this little 1 year Schnauzer wannabe who had been surrendered by his owner due to him being too active for her. Boomer was scared, and had the opportunity to decompress with us in rescue. Then a wonderful couple met him and fell in love. He’s taking lots of walks with his new mom, has a huge backyard to romp in, and of course lots of snuggles and attention. Now this calls for a happy dance!! 💕🐶🐾
