Lady, is a gentle little old lady who is looking for a loving and comfortable retirement/hospice home to spend her remaining time. Our vets have estimated that she is between 10 and 14 years old. She was picked up as a very thin stray in Kansas City with a dirty matted coat. She weighs a little over 14 pounds. She spent two weeks in a loving foster home before coming to Colorado where she got along well with the resident dogs and enjoyed sleeping under a blanket in a dog bed next to her foster mom. We did blood tests and the results weren’t bad, so we have cleaned and treated her teeth and took a biopsy of a mass at the base of her neck. She is on medication for some arthritis.
Her foster mom noted that she doesn’t seem comfortable on the furniture and cowers if you reach down to pet her head, but does seem to enjoy being petted under her chin and neck. She doesn’t seem to enjoy being handled, but does want to be with her human.
