Adopt Darcy: a lovely little thing

09/25/2015 – Darcy has been adopted!!!

This sweet, spunky, itty bitty schnauzer is looking for a forever home. At 7.6 pounds, you wouldn’t know it, but Darcy is very athletic and strong. You should see her flying up and down the stairs! At the same time, she’s the biggest cuddler there is, always looking for that special someone in her family that will shower her with love and attention. She has the softest white fur (hypoallergenic and clean doggy), and she’s healthy and cute as a button. Like most mini schnauzers, she’s very smart, lovable, and comical, and she loves eye contact, which will just melt your heart. Her foster mom likes to call her little diva girl. Unfortunately, she was given up by a family that couldn’t handle her barking and excitement when people visit. This could probably be curbed with some training and patience. She also gets nervous in the car, probably due to the lack of adventures in her previous life, but at home she’s very calm and will just follow you everywhere and watch you do your thing.

She’s doing amazingly well at her foster home, socializing with other dogs and always eager to play with her foster doggy sister. Sometimes she stares from a distance and then she does this funny charge-attack to get her to play.

How could she have no home? We’re looking for a forever home for this 2 year old, one with preferably a somewhat experienced owner or couple that will know to teach her a little discipline while also giving her lots of love. With a little balance and a set routine, she will thrive. A playful doggy sibling (preferably non-alpha) would be really nice too, though not imperative. She is okay around young children, but it’d be best if they’re not part of her daily life, as the comings and goings of noisy little ones could be stressful for her.

Darcy is spayed, she is up to date on her shots (rabies, distemper and kennel cough), vet checked, heartworm tested negative and on preventative while in rescue, and micro chipped. If you would like to meet Darcy, go to www.cominischnauzerrescue.com and complete the online adoption application. You will receive a receipt email when we receive the application. We will give you a call to set up a time to bring Darcy for a visit.
