Adopt Lucy: an elderly girl

We are looking for someone who is willing to provide a loving hospice foster home for Lucy, an 11 year old female Miniature Schnauzer with multiple medical issues. Lucy came into rescue from a local shelter were she was relinquished by her owner who could no longer care for her. Lucy has lived with other dogs and cats, but tends to be dominant and sometimes aggressive. We think this behavior may be due in part at least because she has cataracts which limit her vision, and she may be a little hard of hearing.

Lucy (Mini Schnauzer for adoption)

Lucy has a heart murmur, mild arthritis in her hind quarters and tumors including a large mass on her spleen. The vet does not think that she is in pain, but we are giving her a daily dose of rimadyl for her arthritis. We did clean her teeth and remove a couple damaged teeth. She prefers to eat soft food. Lucy is up to date on all of her shots and rescue will pay for her medication while in foster care. Her former owner noted that Lucy liked to wander in her backyard and we have noticed that she seems to enjoy walking around inside and outside. We think that she would enjoy a quiet home with a fenced backyard and a willing lap!
