01/25/2015 – Minnie has been adopted!!!
This girl is a total sweetie! Minnie is a Schnauzer/Terrier mix who traveled all the way from Texas to Denver to find her loving forever home. She is black and tan instead of black and silver, and she is a pretty little girl, about 1½ years old who would love a permanent home. Minnie is a happy girl who loves to wander around in her fenced in backyard. She is a little timid with strangers, but she makes friends quickly. She is not a barker and is learning to potty outside.
Like many dogs coming from Texas, Minnie was heartworm positive when she arrived. Heartworms are parasites that live in the dog’s circulatory system, ultimately collecting in the heart. Unfortunately, many dogs are euthanized because they are heartworm positive even though the condition is easily treatable. Minnie has had her shots and is recovering nicely. We cannot reliably retest her for 4 to 6 months. If you would like to adopt Minnie, rescue will pay to retest her, and for any additional treatment required to assure that she is cured.
Minnie is spayed, she is up to date on her shots (rabies, distemper, and kennel cough), vet checked, and micro chipped. If you would like to meet Minnie, complete the adoption application. When you are finished, you can email it to Susan or fax it to her at the number on the application. After reviewing your application, she will give you a call to set up a time to bring Minnie for a visit.
