03/07/2016 – Max has been adopted!
Max is a sweet little terrier mix who was surrendered by his owner in Houston because of an “owner problem,” perhaps he was not allowed in their living situation. He came to rescue last spring and was adopted out last summer. After a couple of months, Max developed some separation anxiety and was returned to rescue. He is doing better with a foster mom who is home most of the day and with a couple of foster siblings. Max is only about 16 pounds, and he is tan and black, so not a pure schnauzer, but maybe a mix. He does have a tail. He loves attention. When you pick him up and carry him, he nuzzles your neck and gives puppy kisses. He has very wiry fur and doesnât seem to shed. He gets along well with other dogs. He had a lot of fun with the other dogs in doggie daycare. Max would do well with a companion dog.
Max is neutered, he is up to date on his shots (rabies, distemper, and kennel cough), vet checked, and micro chipped. Max did come from Houston and was heartworm positive, but he has been treated. Rescue will pay to get him retested in six months, and if he is still positive for heartworms, we will retreat him at our expense. If you would like to meet Max, please complete the online adoption application. You will receive an email confirmation of receipt. After we have reviewed your application, we will give you a call in the order that your application was received.
