Minnie is a little 12 pound terrier mix who is around 1 year old. She came into rescue with her littermate, Mickey, but they do not need to be adopted together. The owner had recently moved to Colorado from out of state and was in the process of moving again and couldn’t take the dogs with her, so she posted the dogs on Craigslist. Due to the incredible danger to “free” dogs on Craigslist, we reached out to the owner and she was agreeable to surrendering the dogs to rescue.
Minnie was also very fearful, barky and nippy when she first came into rescue about a month ago, but now Minnie actually comes to her foster mom for attention, can be picked up and will roll over on her back to have her tummy rubbed! It took Minnie longer to learn to trust people, but she is showing interest in being petted and generally making progress.
Since Minnie is so small, a secure fence will be necessary, and we are suggesting no children under 12 years old. Minnie is spayed, she is up to date on her shots (rabies, distemper, and kennel cough), vet checked, and micro chipped. If you would like to meet Minnie, please complete the adoption application. We will give you a call to set up a time to bring Minnie for a visit.
